WHEN WILL SUNRISES STOP MAKING ME TEAR UP

I got on the trail early today to get to Uncle Johny’s Hostel. I don’t know how I’m going to make it through the night. Wish I would have opted for the 10 dollar camping option. But I took a shower, am waiting for the washing machine, and contacted a potential Trail Angel who will give me a ride to Asheville tomorrow so I can fly to Denver on Friday.

As I watched the sun rise I continued to rehearse what I will say to the Judge next week to represent our family and our son. I found myself crying out but never stopped walking.Just walk I sometimes tell myself, just walk.

Lately I have seen some beautiful vistas, awesome flowers, and misshaped trees that boggle the mind. I promise that over the weekend I will get back the ability to publish the pics so you will have something to look at. Please pray for us over this next week that all travel arrangements work out and that we have the clarity of mind to let others know the impact, the pain, but also the forgiveness we want to share.

    1. Love that you’re meeting such interesting people! Re: coming off the trail. It physically hurts to think of what all of you have to face back in Colorado. One step at a time.
Hey I received an awesome letter from Matt today. He sends his prayers and love as we all do.

      1. A friend of mine taped a presentation I did back in the Fall and recently edited it so I could post it on Youtube.com. After going to the website, just search for Andy Davidson thru hiking thru life and you should get the 3 parts. The total presentation lasts about an hour. Hopefully it will make you laugh and think. Since I last wrote, I have to say I really miss the trail and miss conversing with y’all even more. I’ve been working on another project which I hope to announce in the near future. Until then I have dreams of jumping in the truck with Lor and Belle (our Springer Spaniel) and back packing out West this summer. (Just don’t tell my employer).

        Take care, “Phantom”

I can’t thank you enough for all the support. Feel free to spread the word and I apologize to some of you who may be getting this notice as a repeat.

  3. I Put up a trail map in the store today. Every night before bed I check your post. I’m leaning hard on doing the trail. Hopefully sooner than later. Seems like a good way to straight the brain back out. God bless and hope all works out.

  4. Andy, I just finished reading your entire blog so now I’m all caught up! I don’t know when I’ve read anything that I enjoyed more than what I just read in the words of your blog detailing the daily struggle up-and-down the mountains of Georgia Tennessee and North Carolina. I’m in awe and I just wish I was there with you… so does Rick… we’re encouraged now more than ever to make this trip so now we’re starting our own exploration to get ready for it. With respect to the 28th I don’t know what I would tell you. I admire you for having the capacity to forgive such a tremendous loss. I know how hard that must be but I have no idea what you’re going through and what your families going through, but I know that you’ll get through it with Gods help… as far as overcoming adversity I think you’re demonstrating daily minute by minute on the AP…! So, as you collide with the “28th,” I offer you this bible verse… it is my favorite …. Jesus said this to his Desciples at The Last Supper on the Eve before his capture, torture and crucifixion… I believe that it was these words that guided his Desciples and followers as the suffered similar fates of death for their beliefs, but not before they collectively set in motion the foundation of Christianity that lives today with us and will for all eternity…

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” JOHN 16:33

I love and Miss you… God Speed… Doc Hollywood

    1. Thank you so much. I’m sitting in the Asheville airport with a round trip ticket waiting for an earlier flight. I’m reading the book Wild and balling my eyes out. The closer I get, the weaker I feel
